Before I Die is a public art project that invites people to reflect on their lives and share their personal aspirations in public space. Painted with chalkboard paint and stenciled with the sentence “Before I die I want to _______”, the wall aims to create public spaces that better reflect what is important to us as a community and as individuals.

Artist Koh Sang Woo

Koh Sang Woo - My work is about connect and passion. Not about the standard or norm of beauty but the connection and emotion the viewer has when viewing the artworks. Challenging the fundamental views on beauty is one of the most important qualities of my artwork, second is to amplify my emotion to the large scale.

Aerogel, also know as frozen smoke, is the world’s lowest density solid, clocking in at 96% air. If you hold a small piece in your hand, it’s practically impossible to either see or feel, but if you poke it, it’s like styrofoam. It supports up to 4,000 times its own weight and can withstand a direct blast from two pounds of dynamite. It’s also the best insulator in existence.

Strip away all of the excess and you may just end up living in a box. That’s the concept behind, Paco, a white 3m x 3m x 3m cube designed by Jo Nagasaka & Sschemata Architecture Office Ltd. Offering the very minimum equipment to live in a small space; Paco houses only the necessities a table, a toilet, and a shower. It also comes with a pretty cool hammock!

Inspired by structures found in nature, Cloud Cities is comprised of 20 giant bubbles suspended by wires, “investigating new spatial and cultural modules for living… A utopic world of inflatable domes and levitating gardens.”
